History
The incident Egyptians was the inventors of tanning leathers and they used it in clothing and military and to many industries and till the end of their generation they was still the best for producing and using the animals skins and wool.
Farrouh Leathers was born in the heart of Egypt at 1935, in the so called “tanning district”, where the tanning process is an old family tradition and where the economy is mainly related to this activity.
Mr.Baky Grand Father of Farrouh Family Was establish first tannery in old Cairo since 1935. which is specialized in manufacture of Vegetable Tanned and then Chrome Tanned Leathers hides ( cow and buffalo leather) hides and was co-operated with the biggest companies of leathers products in Egypt and middle east.
During the years gradual and continuous improvements have been made: in the quality of the leather.
In 2017, Farrouh-Group Translocated their tanneries from Old Cairo District to Robiki Leather City which is considered to be the first leather industrial cluster in Africa and the Middle east , during translocation Farrouh-Group establish a well organized tannery with new technological equipment and machineries for products improvement and high utilization and capacity for crust and finished leather

Although tanning with chrome agents was introduced only about 100 years ago, this is the most commonly used procedure, chrome tanned leather accounts for approximately 90% of all the leather produced in the world.

The plant extract applied for vegetable tanning or either polyphenol compounds (condensed vegetable tannins) or esters of glucose and Gallic acid (Hydrolysable Vegetable tannins) which is leached with water from wood, barks, leaves, root,Etc. Most Used vegetable tannins extracts:

Depending on the type of vegetable tannins employed, thickness, and Fat-liquors Concentrations,
leather can be used to produce shoe sole leather, Upper Leather, Harnesses, Saddles, Belts, Leather goods, Garments
